Pancreatic cancer tied to fizzy drinks and sugar

Click here for story at MSNBC.com

The group of people who said they drank fizzy or syrup-based drinks twice a day or more ran a 90 percent higher risk of getting cancer of the pancreas than those who never drank them.

Wow.

New look…

Whaddya think of the new look?  Just thought I’d change the theme a little.

Nice evening in Central Florida.  The windows are open, Lily is drifting off to sleep and I’ve got a belly full of spaghetti.  Celebrity Jeopardy is coming on – it’s a great night!  Diane is tired, so I expect we’ll be going to bed early, which is just fine with me.  I’ve got a great book and I don’t really read as much when she’s awake and the TV is on.

I checked out the Buc’s schedule – hoping there is a chance to at least make the season respectable.  It sure isn’t going to happen this week with a Monday Night Football game against the Panthers.  Then I noticed we have three road games in December.  Now come on.  The Bucs are 2-22 in games where the temperature is below 40.  We’ve got games at Pittsburgh, Chicago and Cleveland…any chance those cities will be cold in December?

MacDill Thunderbolt

The F16’s continue – not like they did that third week of October – but enough that you take notice.  Finally – Diane found out what was going on…

Election

How come when the Democrats win it’s a “Referendum for change” or “The People have Spoken” and when the Republicans win – “they stole the election” and “voters were disenfranchised”?

Hump Day!

Was there an election or something yesterday?  Oh, yes, there was.  Most of the results went my way, the Democrats have the House and maybe the Senate.  Blah, blah, blah.  The contests I cared most about went my way.

Nice rain last night – almost an inch.  Glad I didn’t listen to someone who wanted me to water the grass.  It’s nice again this morning – mid 60’s, sunny.  It’s one of those funny Novembers.

Lily was good this morning.  She slept a bit later than she has the last several mornings and played quietly until we got up.  She  switched to Big Girl Underwear all night and that has gone great – no accidents!  She has music class this morning and then I think she and Diane are stopping at the Library.

I’m waiting for a Fedex shipment that I’ll have to deliver to a customer.  So either this morning, or first thing after lunch I’ll be hitting the road.
