Hangin’ in there…

Who knew this wasn’t acceptable child care?  Don’t worry – this isn’t Leo.  Or Lily.  In fact, I don’t know who it is.

Ah….

Quiet morning at the ol’ office this morning.  Not unusual – Monday mornings are typically slow.  December is almost dead anyways.

As I sit in my office with the doors and windows open, I have time to check the weather for a couple of cities…

First of all -

Brandon, Florida – Acres and acres of sun.  Mid 70’s.  The trees and lawns are green, the sky is bright blue and the flowers are blooming.

Juneau, Alaska – My friend Darrel reports:  “Stay away.  Don’t ask.  It’s super windy – like 60mph – no kidding.  And with temperatures in the low single digits (5 degrees today) the windchill is a dangerous 25-30 degrees below zero.  I swear, if I hear one more word about your weather in Florida I’m going to flip out.”

Dallas, TX – Sunny, but cool.  Temps in the low 60’s during the day and dropping into the 30’s overnight.

Punta Gorda, FL – See report for Brandon, but add 3-5 degrees.

Allentown, PA – Today, Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers this morning. Windy with highs in the mid 40s. West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.   Tonight, mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries. Blustery with lows in the lower 20s. West winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

Little Rock, AR – Today, Sunny…cooler. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

21 days to Christmas

I think I made Lily’s day when I told her it is only 3 weeks to Christmas.

I wasn’t really in the mood to “make her day” given the night’s sleep we had.  Or didn’t have as the case was.  Lily was up at 2am and again at 4:30am.   Diane went up at 2 and I went up at 4:30.   When I went up there, she was sitting up in the bed with all the covers, all the pillows and all the stuffed animals on the floor.   I won’t tell you what I told her.  Let’s just say we didn’t hear from her again until after 6 when it was time to get up anyways.  This morning making breakfast, she blamed the whole episode on “Bear”…the stuffed animal from the zoo who has been to blame for more than one nighttime disruption.  Might have come up with other accomodations for Bear.

It’s only in the mid 60’s this morning.  Brrrr.  I should have worn a jacket.  Or maybe pants.  Instead, I have shorts and short sleeves.  It’s already 72.
