Many regular Vlog readers know that I rarely comment on Diane. I try not to share her opinions, her concerns and I usually don’t even approve the comments she makes. The fact is, if there was ever someone who needs a blog, it’s her. She has opinions on things that you wouldn’t believe and she believes in them with every ounce of her being. She has a conviction about things that you wouldn’t believe.
Anyways, I often find myself trying desperately to remember the things she says that, in a strange way, could actually be taken (by me) as a compliment.
Tonight, as with most nights, we found ourself watching a caucus or a primary…whatever it was. We don’t agree politically. Yet we do. It’s a strange dance that is best avoided some nights. So we are debating the different candidates and their experience and their age…the same things the talking heads toss around on the news. I said that Obama is perhaps too inexperienced. I pointed out that the only difference between me and Barack Obama is the fact that he has four more years experience in the Senate than I do.
Diane said that was her point – that the country could actually use someone more like me to be President.
I think that was a compliment.
