Dear Continental Airlines,
While I appreciate the fact that you have stockholders to whom you must answer, I respectfully request that you suspend your broadcast email of unsold fares. I have a theory that your specials are unfairly targeting traffic that would benefit from a trip to Florida from, say, the northeast areas of the country.
I know our weather might sound appealing. But the fact that we are wearing shorts and short sleeves in the middle of January is no reason to entice our wonderful friends and families to visit. 75 degrees and sunny isn’t all it’s made out to be! Yesterday, I actually started to sweat! And what of the children? My daughter changed clothes three times yesterday…shorts one time, a dress and finally – her swimsuit.
However, should Continental Airlines be willing to compensate me for added trips to the airport, wear and tear on my hot water heater, added grocery costs and overall mental trauma – I might be on board.
By the way, you aren’t the only airline to be offering specials to Florida this weekend. Your counterparts at Delta Airlines have a similar offer from a “midwest airport” (which shall go nameless) for significantly less than your advertised special. Do you have any idea what my weekend could possibly be like with BOTH specials on the same weekend?
Respectfully yours,
Concerned in Brandon
