I can’t believe it

I just don’t understand how early man was able to predict an eclipse.  We can’t get the weather forecast right.  We can’t cure the common cold.  But some guy 1,000 years ago or more could accurately calculate when this would happen….

We have a perfectly clear view of the eclipse tonight.  Perfect.

Both kids are asleep without a peep tonight.  Lily even slept from 2:45pm to almost 4pm on the way home from Disney, yet she was still asleep by 8pm tonight.  Leo may not be feeling to well…maybe he’s just over tired.  He was a bit fussy until 8pm, but he’s been out since then.

Speaking of sleep…I’m heading that direction.  Good night.

Oh, my.

It’s over.  It’s all over.  Months of planning.  Hours of preparation.  And our weekend, Family Extravaganza for Leo’s baptism is over.    Our fun began as the first family arrived Feb 12th.  And ended when we arrived home from Disney today, Feb 20th, at 4pm.  Here’s a look at some personal statistics over the last eight or nine days:

Five hundred thirty miles driven.
Twenty-one house guests.
Fifteen chairs.
Thirteen people at one table at dinner at Outback.
Twelve people who ran from the table when the bill came.
Twelve feet, seven inches:  combined height of the two tallest people in attendance Sunday.
Six racks of ribs.
Three trips to the airport.
Three steak dinners.
Two cross cakes.
Two pitchers of sangria.
Two inches of rain.
Two pews filled at church.
One Luau.
One rented table.
One digital camera left at our house.
One clogged toilet.
